Pom Pom Island

It's located north of Sipadan, Kapalai, and Mabul the Malaysia's diving paradise. There are

six islands to the north-east of Semporna which are outside the Tun Sakaran Marine Park.

The island are mostly separated by deep water and all are surrounded by a fringing coral 

reef with minimal lagoon development. Being lesser-known and really tiny, this island kept

under the radar from tourists and people seeking to sunbath with cocktails in hand. The

island has a white sand coral beach. The island has no village, minimal human impact, no 

polution and is one of the popular destination of the Semporna district.

      The islands are linked by the presence of turtles nesting. The season has come for baby
turtles rush at the Pom Pom Hatchery since we collected many turtle nests during July to September. You can witness the scene of baby turtles born and returning back to the sea here in Pom Pom Island.

There are operational resorts on Pom Pom Island, Mataking and Kalapuan, while resorts areplanned for Timba and Pandanan islands. There are only two resorts on this island, CelebesBeach Resort (affectionately known as CBR) and Pom Pom Island Resort. CBR caters moreto divers and is priced right for those finding it hard to justify paying $2000 for a 4D3N diving package. For those not diving, they have snorkeling packages where you get to go to the same spots as the divers.
